ARTIST BIO

John A Johnson was born in North central Pennsylvania, in the Spring of 1972.

John began drawing and sketching, almost as soon as he was able to hold a pencil. His earliest drawings had shape and were identifiable. As he grew older, his hunger for artistic endeavors kept pace.

John began drawing dinosaurs early on and then branched out into wildlife, which he found to be his favorite subjects. He spends countless hours in the woods of Pennsylvania, studying, drawing and maintaining field journals. He has a love for drawing the animals he meets.

He was first published while in High School. A Field Biology teacher was reviewing his field journal and noted the high quality sketches. He subsequently arranged to have them published in the Pennsylvania Wildlife Magazine. John currently resides in the countryside of Harrisburg Pennsylvania, with his wife, Leslie.
